Richard Child
I am a 12-year full-time resident of Mountain Village and first visited the area in 1998 and in 2006 my family and I decided to make Mountain Village our permanent home. I have been married for 31 years and have two daughters, both graduates of Telluride High School, who currently live in Denver. As my family, I am extremely passionate about Mountain Village and I am in constant awe of the incredible beauty and environment that surrounds us.

Businesswise, I am known to be a driven and dynamic global financial products and services executive with experience doing business in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. My former peers and bosses viewed me as a strong leader, manager and change agent with a history of developing key personnel and high-performing teams.

I have held key professional positions such as President of the Mastercard Latin America division in Miami and Chairman of Rev Asia Pacific in New Zealand. During my 40-plus year professional career I have also been a member of numerous boards of directors and audit committees. I have a passion for efficiency and seek as much precision as possible in the tasks I undertake. I fully support holding personnel and entities accountable for their actions and I am financially conservative, with a keen interest in knowing the financial reasoning behind and viability of initiatives taken or to be implemented.

I believe I have a pretty good idea of the needs, desires and nuances of the town’s homeowners and residents. Moreover, I have served on a number of boards and commissions that have provided me with further insight on the community’s particulars:

· Member of Mountain Village Town Council for five years (2008-2013). Additionally I was mayor pro-tem for two years; I also served on the finance committee and represented the town on the Region 10 Board of Directors.

· Member of the board of directors of TMVOA (2007).

· Member of the board of Marketing Telluride Inc. (currently known as Telluride Tourism Board) (2006-2007).

· I am currently an alternate member of the Telluride Regional Airport Authority Board as well as a member of the Town of Mountain Village Ethics Commission.

I am very pleased with the increased collaboration between TMVOA and the town of Mountain Village, something I will continue to support and encourage as it benefits homeowners and businesses alike.

Heather Knox
Heather grew up ski racing in Minnesota. After graduating from Colorado College Heather planned to move to a ski town for a year; that was 1995, and she has been here ever since. Initially Heather worked as a shared seasonal employee for both Telluride Ski and Golf, as a lift operator and then lifts trainer, and for Mountain Village as ground keeper or what was called “a flower girl” back then. In 1998, when the Telluride Conference Center (TCC) was being planned and developed, Heather was hired, first as the executive assistant, then as a group coordinator/manager, and ultimately promoted to the position of Director.

Under Heather’s leadership, with creative revenue generating, Heather was able to cut the annual tax payer subsidy to the Telluride Conference Center by 82% ($750K+). Heather finished her career for Mountain Village as the Director of Economic Development, which managed the Telluride Conference Center, the Guest Services Department, marketing & homeowner communications, and all Mountain Village events and economic incentive grants. Heather managed an annual budget of $2.4 million. Numerous Mountain Village events and festival grants from this time still occur and are successful in Mountain Village today under TMVOA’s direction and budget. Heather holds the honor of naming the Sunset Concert Series. Because of the view to the west, it seemed like a good name!

Following this, for 6 years, Heather was the Executive Director of the Palm Theater, helping the Palm transition from a generous contribution for the naming of the theatre to self-sufficiency. Heather brought in a successful after-school dance program under a new non-profit, Palm Arts. Since 2014 Heather has been and is the Executive Director of EcoAction Partners, focusing on energy efficiency and waste reduction. Heather is a member of the State of Colorado Pollution Prevention Advisory Board Assistance Committee, overseeing CO Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity grant and rebate programs. Heather has assisted the Town of Mountain Village (Village Court) and TSG on increasing energy efficiency in businesses and in Mountain Village affordable housing stock, and she looks forward to continuing this work in the future.

Heather is a Meadow’s resident, and mother of two: Zoe age 14 and, and Thea age 12. She volunteers as a coach for the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club. Heather is also extremely dedicated to using the public transportation system that TMVOA funds. As much possible, through biking, taking the gondola/chondola and/or bus, Heather gets to where she needs to go without getting in her car. Heather also serves on the SMART (San Miguel Authority for Regional Transit) Community Advisory Committee.

Tim Kunda (Incumbant)
My family first visited Telluride/Mountain Village in 2002 and it was love at first site. We said to each other that if we ever had the opportunity and good fortune to live here, we would jump at the chance. Happily, our dream came true in 2012 when we bought our house in Knoll Estates. My wife Susie and I now spend much of the year here and our daughters Madeleine (26) and Olivia (24) make Mountain Village their home. Madeleine works as on ski patrol in the winters and also works in design and marketing. Olivia works as a group experience coordinator. . Susie has been a full time mother to the girls and is an avid hiker and outdoor lover. We all love living here.

I spent my career in the alcohol beverage industry, owning and operating several businesses with my brothers, including a wholesale distribution business, a beer/wine/spirits importing company and a retail beer store. My areas of expertise are finance and technology. We belong to the Telluride Ski and Golf club where I can often be found on the course or on the slopes, my two favorite pastimes. We also own a home in Naples, Florida. We have truly felt welcomed into this warm, wonderful and beautiful community. I have served on the board the past two years and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would like to participate in the effort to preserve and protect this place that we so dearly love and feel that I can continue to do so on the board of the TMVOA.
